Miniature Dayliles Double Daylilies Collections

Siberian   Iris

Elegant Siberian Iris will add a long season of beauty to your garden. After flowering in late May and June, their sword-like foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season. Siberian Iris are tolerant of an extreme range of cultural conditions. Established plants are quite drought tolerant, however they can thrive in damp and boggy conditions. Loam soils, enriched with organic matter and mulched, are ideal. Siberian Iris perform well in sun and light shade.

Siberian Iris can be planted in early spring or fall. However, we recommend spring shipments only, to our customers in the northern tier of states. Since our New England climate does not allow us to dig much earlier than mid-April, we recommend fall planting for most warmer climates. Northern gardeners can also plant in the fall. We will ship plants to you in early September so that they will have two to three months to become fully established before winter. We dig heavy triple fan divisions.

DAYLILIES

Daylilies are truly low-maintenance perennials. They are almost entirely free of disease and insect pests, need infrequent division, grow in full sun to partial shade, grow in diverse soil types and are drought tolerant. Daylilies have a long season of bloom, from late May to hard frost. Combining daylily varieties with varying bloom periods can supplement your perennial border all summer.

At Tranquil Lake Nursery we are dedicated to offering hardy, quality perennials. Our growing fields display the latest creations by many fine daylily hybridizers. We also introduce exceptional daylilies from many talented New England breeders. Our long time customers will recognize the names of some of these hybridizers from whom we introduce new plants. Barth from Maine and Savolainen, Pride, Rose, Sobek, Marvin and Lachman of Massachusetts are creators of many exceptional and enduring daylily cultivars. Their beauty, unique qualities and rareness are reflected in the daylily's initial introduction price. However, we have one standard for daylilies. Is it a fine variety? If it is, we want it for our customers, regardless of its age or price. Our catalog reflects this diversity. We offer daylilies with round flowers and pleated ruffles, such as the spectacular "Golden Cameo" (Lachman). We also grow elegant and fragrant flowered species and hybrids that reflect simple yet graceful form, like "Hanna Jane (Barth). We grow "oldies but goodies" such as "Autumn Minaret", introduced by Stout in 1951 and still an extraordinary late-garden standout.

The list of daylilies offerings has been divided into three separate categories depending on the size and type of flower. The first alphabetical list consists of Large Flowered, the second is Small Flowered and Miniatures. Double-flowered daylilies are listed separately at the end. We hope these separated lists will help you to find that special plant for your garden.

We ship healthy double-fan divisions or clumps (4-5 fans), unless other- wise indicated. Occasionally, low stock varieties and some new introductions will be shipped as single fans. Our guarantee still applies.
